Jeff Jackson, General Manager of the Toronto Marlies, announced today that the club has recalled goaltender Andrew Engelage from the Reading Royals of the ECHL.
Engelage, 20, appeared in one preseason game with the Marlies, making 13 saves on 14 shots against the Hamilton Bulldogs on September 30. Engelage played in 54 games with the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League during the 2008-09 season earning a record of 46-4-1 with a 2.35 goals-against average and 0.914 save percentage. The 6’5, 206-pound goalie helped guide the Spitfires to a Memorial Cup Championship with a 14-2-1 record during the playoffs.
