Marlies Blanked in Oshawa

(OSHAWA, ON) – The auditions are over and the real season is ready to get underway, after a pre-season tilt in Oshawa with the Marlies and Bulldogs on Wednesday night.


P.K. Subban , Mathieu Darche and Mike Glumac scored for Hamilton.


Curtis Sanford went the distance for a 29 save shutout.


Subban opened the scoring in the first period, when he was able to get away a shot from the slot, under the leg of Reimer.


James Reimer was replaced by Andrew Engelage midway through the game.
With 8 minutes remaining in the third, Mathieu Darche broke in alone on Engelage and tried the deke. Engelage made the first stop, but Darche wable to tuck the puck under his pad for the 2-0 lead. Glumac added an empty net goal with two minutes left to ice the game.

The Marlies were held to just one goal in the three pre-season games they faced Hamilton.
Toronto opens its fifth season at Ricoh Coliseum on Sunday afternoon against the Bulldogs at 4pm
