Leafs Announce Rookie Tourney Roster

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Wednesday their 24 player roster that will participate in a Rookie Tournament hosted by the Leafs at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium. The players will compete in four games beginning Sunday, September 6 versus prospect teams from the Boston Bruins, Ottawa Senators and Pittsburgh Penguins.

Attending the rookie tournament include forward Nazem Kadri, who was Toronto’s first choice, selected seventh overall, at the NHL Entry Draft this past June. Goaltender Jonas Gustavsson will be one of three goaltenders participating for the Blue and White.

In addition, forwards Christian Hanson, Tyler Bozak, Dale Mitchell, Robert Slaney and Viktor Stalberg will bolster the attack of Toronto’s entry in the tournament.

Toronto Marlies head coach Dallas Eakins will oversee the club along with his assistant coaches Gord Dineen and Derek King.
