Marlies Shutout Bulldogs in Night of Firsts

HAMILTON BULLDOGS (0) -AT- TORONTO MARLIES (5)

The Toronto Marlies defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs – AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens – by a score of 5-0 tonight from Ricoh Coliseum.

Greg McKegg opened the scoring for Toronto with his first goal of the season, 51 seconds into the opening period. Five minutes later, Kenny Ryan capitalized on a feed from Keith Aucoin to make it 2-0 for the Marlies. Ryan notched his second goal of the game and second of the season just past the midway point of the first period to give Toronto a three goal lead heading into the middle frame. Nicolas Deschamps and Mike Kostka scored less than two minutes apart early in the second period to secure the win for Toronto.

The Marlies will play their third game in as many days against the Grand Rapids Griffins – AHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings – tomorrow afternoon at Ricoh Coliseum.
