Williams’ Hat Trick Propels Toronto To Win

(HAMILTON, ON) – The Marlies needed some help from secondary scoring, and they got it in a case of Free Willy.

Jeremy Williams scored all three goals on the power play for the hat trick as the Marlies earned an important 4-3 win over the Bulldogs in Hamilton on Sunday.

Ryan Hamilton had the other marker for Toronto shorthanded in the win.

Sergei Kostitsyn, Mike Glumac and JT Wyman had the Bulldogs goals.

It was a game that saw everything from a pair of shorthanded goals with one from each side and a penalty shot. Kyle Chipchura couldn’t beat Pogge late in the second period, which kept the game tied 2-2 after two periods.

Toronto’s power play was 3 for 5, while Hamilton’s goal was the 7th shorthanded goal by the Marlies this season.

Williams’ first goal of the game ended the shutout streak of Cederic Desjardins at 148:35.
Toronto continues on the road this week with games in Syracuse on Wednesday and Rochester on Friday.
